Abandoned

This truck adorns a weed-filled field in the middle of a commercial area on the west side of town. Other items of trash are in the field, too. There's a fast food restaurant on one side of the field, and a brew pub on the other. The manager of the hamburger place told me that the owner has put all of that stuff there.

So, what are the eyesores in your area?

Side note: When I was in Las Vegas last week, I got to meet Mo of Another LV Daily Photo. It was very fun to meet someone from CDP, and we really felt like old friends immediately. However, we should have shot a photo of us together, but we forgot. Next time I go out, we'll have to do that!

It's amazing how people abandon these just on the side of the roads... :(( But the cow and calf pictures is much more rewarding!
So, you didn't notice my Jan 18th «make my day award» to you; but it's there...
Enjoy a great weekend!

I see these in fields around here all of the time. What I dont understand is did the quit running and they leave them there, did they run out of gas and forget where they left it, did they say that looks like a good place to leave this rusted piece of junk?

Thankfully, I don't think we have things like this. Guess someone would have a fit and report it and.... ,-)

Why am I here? Well, I saw your comment in comments here. Saying you miss old architecture. Come on over and take a look back through mine, Hon! Skip back to summer photos, to find lots of houses.

Saratoga Spgs., NY is happy to have realized that it had jewels of old Victorian architecture here, and was wise enough to save what was left in the 70's and restore and preserve. I love that! And that's the reason I began my blog... to keep a Net record of such. And to write down some old-time-lore about places too. For posterity, sort of. :-)

Grad School! Brave you! Best of luck with it.

Believe it or not eyesores make good pictures like this one. I don't know why we react this way. It's an odd thing but we sometimes find beauty in abandoned rusty stuff. Thanks God we can. It is shocking and pleasant at the same time if you know what I mean. Don't worry about what you mentioned in your comment. I understand perfectly. Everybody must do what comes first in life, the rest is just for fun. Friendship is what really counts. I do like your ways and can really feel that your a superb person so don't worry about the rest. I wish you the best in those lessons of yours. By the way, your Spanish is getting better all the time. See you around Chris.

I would guess that truck is worth some money as scrap metal. I wonder how long it will last there.

Isn't it fun to meet other DP bloggers? It happened to me a few times too and it was always a wonderful experience.

In this particular photo I don't think of this truck as an eyesore, your pic is great!
To answer your question, I would mention industrial areas outside town as eyesores here. Large square buildings flanked by huge billboards. Yuk

I know it seems like an eye sore, but I can't tell you how badly I always wanted an old truck like that sitting in MY field!! Whacko, eh? HAhahahahaha

If I ever get rich, I am going to scour the country and buy all these old relics and make a GARDEN out of them all! WahoO!
