Y'all Come Back
I recently saw this sign hanging at the exit of a festival held downtown, and it made me think of how I swore I would never say, "Y'all" (That's the correct spelling, by the way.) when we moved to Atlanta back in the 80s. HA! Within a few days, "y'all" was part of my vocabulary.
You guys. Youse. How else do we Americans pluralize "you?"

See, now I've always thought it was spelt "y'all" like you wrote, but the sign is different and is spelt "ya'll".
So let me tell you something odd about me. As I live in Minnesota, I try to be different and have worked words like "y'all" and "soda" and a few other southern words into my vocabulary. I often get asked if I'm from the south, which was my goal. hahaha.
and to reply to your comment on the presidential quiz I posted on my website....same here, the canidate I've been hoping will get the nomination was the number 1 selection for me as well. It was a surprise to me as I didn't know all of the candidates completely, so it gave me reassurance on my selection.
I am thrilled to see y'all spelt right.
Great post--and photo! My west Texas relatives think the way I say "you guys" is funny because of my "accent."
YINS! That's my favorite, y'ins. And NO, I do NOT know if that is the right way to spell it, but I can use it in a sentence! Hee hee hee.
That fun.
Thanks Chris,
Wayne
That's cute!
