For nine years, I owned a paper arts store here in Nashville, and I've just returned from a cruise where I taught 10 classes in stamping and cardmaking. Paper arts, particularly scrapbooking and rubberstamping, are very popular crafts due in part to the fact that anyone can do them. In the past few years, knitting and crocheting have also experienced explosive growth because, like paper arts, almost anyone can knit or crochet. I've crocheted since I was a child, although I hadn't done much in recent years. However, since closing my store, I have started a new project. I love colorful yarns that have some texture, like the ones shown above.
Do you knit or crochet? Or, do you scrapbook or rubberstamp?

When I was a small child my Grandma made us an afgan every year. She would spend all winter crocheting for the grandkids. We always had balls of yarn around the house.
The colours are luscious, and I can imagine the yarn being used for some creative projects.
I crochet, or at least I used to! Afghans were the rage years ago, and I have three that I made. My mother also knitted, but I never got into that. Last year, I started crocheting again ... potholders for Christmas. Beautiful yarn, by the way!
I used to knit when I was in my teens, only scarves. I tried my hand at crochet but it always turned out crooked. I love to scrapbook and do cardmaking. I've been scrapbooking for about seven years now and cardmaking for about a year. I love to scrapbook, sometimes it's like a stress reliever. Taking photos just go hand and hand with scrapbooking. I have always loved taking photos.
Nothing of that... but I'm glad you are back...
My mom also crocheted a lot. . .When she passed away, we gave away about 10 afghans that she made over the years. . .And, I have about 5 others here!
I particularly like the yarns shown, although I am using ribbon yarn in my current scarf project. However, the colors are pretty similar!!
Yes, Barb, scrapping and photography do go hand-in-hand. I'm like the cobbler's kids, though. . . I owned the store, but I never scrapbooked. . .never the time to do so!
And, Quint, I am happy to be home, too. . .SAFE. . .We were on the backlash of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Noel, so I was green about 3 of the 7 days. . . .NOT fun!
I used to macraméd when I lived in CA, duh!
My Michigan neighbor started her card making (pressing flowers from her garden) at the age of 82! She's close to 90 now and very successful :-)
You are so creative! I just learned to crochet a few weeks ago and am having fun making a simple little rose of sc and dcs!
wonderful colors, nice photo!
