Church Day
Being as today is Sunday, I thought I would post a photo of one of the many churches that grace downtown Nashville. First Evangelical Lutheran Church is on Eighth Avenue, about one block from Broadway (the main east-west street in downtown). Like most of the other downtown churches, First Lutheran has an active congregation.

I find red doors very appealing, especially in old grand buildings like this one.
I like the architecture and the history of the building of some churches, only that.
Greetings from Barcelona
It's interesting to see another church with red doors--there's one down Everett from us which I posted about on Sept. 10 and 11. Does the green wrought iron fence circle the entire block?
Yes, I do miss Mississippi quite a bit, even if I do go on and on about Portland. My aunt and uncle live south of Jackson in Puckette. She keeps us up to date with the weather in there little bit of our home state--the dry, the storms, the beautiful blue skies, and the heat and humidity as well as the finally arriving cooler days. To tell you the truth, this drought in the Southeast has me worried for many reasons. Many bloggers across the region have mentioned it, making it even more personal to me than the news reports do. I pray every night for slow, soaking rain to replenish the area.
I guess there is something to be said about red doors in the right locations. I like the architecture and the red doors on this building.
Very beautiful churches. I agree that the red doors are very appealing. Nice photo
Chris -- I've often thought about doing a blog just on churches I visited .... but I've got enough on my plate now.
