The Snow before the Storm

I took this photo of the train tracks through London on Tuesday afternoon. At the time, there were about 3 inches of snow on the ground. The snow started to come down about 10 minutes after I took this photo, and it didn't stop until almost 26 hours later. By then, we had a layer of ice and 10-12 inches of snow on the ground.

So much snow, so cold, nice to visit, nice to stay warm to a point. Would put us in a panic if that were to happen here. We can barely handle the rain, but is better than the fires. Hubby says it is supposed to rain in a few days, so is good for our drought.

So to visit snow, still nice.

Fourth Annual!!
A Bloggers (Silent) Poetry Reading

Anytime February 2, 2009

Your blog

Some poetry is warming. It cracks the ice in the heart of the Earth to remind her that spring is just around the corner. Or ... if you live south of the equator, choose poetry to cool the heart of the Earth so as to remind her fall is coming.

Select a poem you like - by a favorite poet or one of your own - to post February 2nd.

What else?
Feel free to pass this invitation on to any and all bloggers.
If anyone wants to join in, the link to "The Gold Puppy" is on my site.

Hope everyone joins in, even if it is after the 2nd.
