I took this photo of the state capitol from the north end of Bicentennial Mall the same evening I took the skyline photo. What amazed me about the evening was how clear the night sky was. There was not a cloud in sight.
For reference. . . As you look at this photo, the Cumberland River is a few blocks to the left, which would be east, and the stadium is a few blocks southeast. I took the photos that I posted August 2 from a spot near there, and that's why you don't see the capitol in those photos.

Nashville's clear cause the smog has all left for China!
Those green lights are different. I don't think I have seen them before.
Wow. That is the kind of place that seems to give off a magnetic force, transforming your readers to ask the existential question, "How do I go there?".
Splendid shot, Chris. I'm so glad that you posted it. You're right, the conditions were perfect for you to get these great photos.
Fabulous photo. We shot from slightly further back the previous night (http://jeremyfountain.com/archives/495). Unfortunately, a security guard/police officer (not sure which) insisted night we were trespassing. We relocated 10 feet away to the sidewalk and continued. You can see his car in the foreground.
Thanks for the shots. Love seeing pics of my hometown!
