World Market Finally Opens in Nashville
World Market (Cost Plus) finally opened in Nashville last week. I have liked the place since I discovered them in San Francisco years ago, mostly because I like the fact that they sell foreign foods that you can't find everywhere. In addition to the foods, they offer housewares and furniture made all over the world (similar to Pier One). One of my friends was happy that they opened because they sell foreign beers and allow you to build your own six-pack with an assortment, if you wish. However, current state laws prohibit them - and other grocers - from selling wine. That, however, is a different story (and one I'll discuss with tomorrow's post).

I learned something. World Market finally opens. I didn't know such a place existed. We don't have anything like that in my neck of the woods but I think we would welcome almost anything more advanced than Sam's Club. I like the idea of being able to mix the beer. What a neat idea that is. I drink at least one six pack of beer in a year or sometimes it lasts two years. But I like to taste different brands.
I don't drink beer, and anytime my husband buys it, it lasts forever. We have a can in the refrigerator that we probably bought when Clinton was president. ;-)
Have you ever heard of 10,000 Villages? Theres one in Green Hills and I think that you might like it...
World Market looks similar to our "HomeGoods." Same concept, I guess. Love that kind of shop.
That's a good idea... letting you make your own pack.
Not that I spend all time drinking beer ... in fact, I barely do but I like tasting different beers from everywhere.
As for wine, I'll wait to see why can´t they sell it.
Gosta de vinho?
Olha, aqui está a chover e outra vez frio.
O tempo anda tolo!
Don't think I've ever been in one, but I am sure I'd like it.
Shopping....huh, looks like fun.
Yay for you!!! Love World Market! We still don't have a Home Goods, though...
Love the concept of the World Market. I've never heard of the store before. It must have really interesting food items.
I'd like to have such an international store here in Boston! But I guess I have to ask Fenix where is Homegoods since this is the similar concept...
Thanks any for letting us about this new opening and enjoy their products! But not too many beers;-)
i like this kind of shop too... always liked pier one too =)
i have friends that are beer connoisseurs and would appreciate this..i tend to stick with the regular ol' domestic coors light.. =)
This picture is superb. I don't drink beer either, but that is a neat concept.
Neat! My husband is German and I lived in France for eight years, so we love whenever we find a taste of the old world here. :D
We don't have this store in Jackson, but there are a couple of local places that have different cheeses and meats. They tend to be waaaay overpriced though! Hope you enjoy the world market. Drink a German beer for us.
