Watered-down Jingle Bells

Street performers are a part of Dickens Christmas in Franklin, and this guy attracted a lot of attention. He was playing Jingle Bells at the time I snapped this photo. . .and he was quite good!

Some of you may not be aware of how he's creating music. He has crystal wine goblets of different sizes and shapes, and he's filled them with different amounts of water. He wets the tips of his fingers and then rubs them over the rims which creates a beautiful, musical sound.

It was beginning to sound a lot like Christmas yesterday!

Great pic Chris. I enjoy these street celebrations. As you noticed we have one of these Dickens things in McKinney too. Great fun!

Great shot. That is a really unusual way to play Jingle Bells. Great blog title!

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog.

How cool, a great way to teach kids about music and sounds, and fun to watch.

I adore to see these musicians on glass; I never saw some in the street

I bet that was lovely to hear. My computer is back up and running. That would be nice to have temps in the 70's right now. I prefer warm weather to cold.

I have always been fascinated by those who can do this. And I have heard people doing this for a long, long time. Some are very good. I don't ever remember hearing Jingle Bells. I bet that was nice.

Greata picture Chris.
And yes, there are people who can play quite well all kinds of music on crystal glasses. I once gave it a thought, but my wife didn't give me a chance. I guess she feared I would break any (or all) glass. Guess she was correct.
