Gas Relief

While I was shooting the photo I posted yesterday of dozens of drivers waiting to get gas, a tanker showed up to keep this particular Kroger station filled with gas.  We're hoping that tomorrow will bring a little more calm to the city when people realize that there is enough gas.

And this all started with a rumor?

Yes, Jim. . . .They believe a radio station announced that we were going to experience a gas shortage because of the hurricane's effect on refineries. Long story short, it started a panic and gas-buying frenzy and made the rumor come true. :-)

Why do the lines always seem to be at the Kroger? We had the same rumors here just before Ike. Everyone ran out at lunchtime to get gas. The Kroger has lines snaking out onto highway 49.

I waited and went to the BP near my house and everything was fine there - no lines at all!

Our rinky-dinky town has a couple of cheap gas stations and always seem to have gas. The big name station doessn't sell more I don't think. Anyway, we got gas. LOL

Thanks for the comment about my granddaughter's portrait, Audrey.

At least the price is going down some now!

Rumour has it. It happens in the UK too. We never learn. Don't get me started on bread crisis.

I'm glad you have gas, since the price of the barrel went up more than 6 dollars today... ;))
Have a great time!
